Dark Smokey Eyes (For Halloween!) Or Not.

Halloween calls for seductive (or terrifying) makeup, but if you’re not going scary, a smokey eye is your best bet for a great halloween look.

Steps:

Creating a smokey eye is all about blending the colors you want. You can use browns, blacks, grays or even blues.

Here are a variety of looks you can create easily yourself:

All blue smokey:

Lots of black, lots of liner:

Black, pinks and purples:

False lashes:

Blacks and browns:

Based on your eye color you should be able to create a variety of these looks. To bring out brown eyes, use the pink/purples/browns like the pictures above. Blacks may be a bit too harsh, unless you mix in enough grays. Gray, blue and green eyes can use blacks and grays. Blue eyes can also use all blues. If you’re unsure how to blend these looks, there are a lot of tutorials on youtube at your disposal. Happy haunting!

  When I do it, I end up looking like I have a black eye, not a smoky one. Maybe I do too much blending, or not enough??? I have a makeup artist friend who want to teach me a glitter smoky eye. I’m going to David Bowie (which isn’t a terrible thing, I suppose…)

  I want to know how to do the all blue smokey, and smokey eye for blue eyes but it never looks right. Any ideas how, i been looking at stuff but never really got it right. HELLLPPPPP!!

    Hey Elena, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you! The best suggestion I have is to make sure you start light and build up. Use a littler bit of a darker color on the outer corner of your eyes and build slowly, ensuring that you blend. Add some liner to your tight line and the outer corner of your eyes (a little bit on the bottom but not much) and smudge with a brush. Then, mascara – lot’s of it.
