I’ve been wondering… what labels would you be all right with flaunting?
Remember the days when the Coach C was all the rage? I personally own a few of those C clad bags from back in the day, but cringe at the thought of even considering wearing them out. That look is just so out dated, so overplayed, I tell myself. I just want to donate them and make space for the more adult bags in my life. Besides, Coach has so many more fabulous non-signature options these days.
But then, another C gets me swooning.
The coveted Chanel C.
How can this be so? Is it the price point? Am I that materialistic? (Maybe. Eeek!) At least I admit it, right? Don’t get me wrong felines, Coach ain’t cheap. But neither is Louis Vuitton and I wouldn’t be caught dead carrying one of their signature bags. Everyone and their mother has a faux Louis, why would I want people to think I was just another wannabe?
This all may sound very “snobriety problems” but I’m trying to address a bigger social conundrum here. What sets labels apart?
When did Levi Strauss denim go from “one and only” to “only if I were on a ranch in Montana”. Is beauty all in the eye of the beholder?
So now I officially ask you, what obvious labels do you covet and what obvious labels make you cringe?
