This week I took a mini trip to Sephora in the hopes of finding a new foundation.
On this magical adventure on a idle Thursday, I came across a woman named Wendy. Wendy, as it turns out, is a outside rep for Bare Minerals and was going to ever so nicely tell me why I should convert.
At the moment, I have a shiseido cream foundation (which it looks like they don’t make anymore – suspicious). It worked swell for awhile (and maybe it’s just old – but not yet used up) but now half way through the day it tends to separate and streak – leaving my face looking like a subtle mini tiger and I am left with no choice but to wipe it off. Not fun. If I’m going to take the extra ten minutes in the morning to make my face look legit, I want it to stay that way.
Back to Wendy.
Wendy immediately determined what kind of foundation I needed and swiped it on my face with the world’s softest brush. “So natural you could sleep in it – if you wanted to,” she said. “Absolutely not,” I thought, but it’s good to know I won’t break out if accidents happen, right? Never.
Then Wendy brought over a kit complete with my chosen new foundation in “medium” a primer, mineral veil, bronzer and three shiny new brushes. Of course, the world’s softest foundation brush was extra but I was willing to fork out the $28 for proper application every day. Finally, I added a little extra to my starter kit with the Stroke of Light eye brightener in “Luminous 1″
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “bitch got sucked in and spent a fortune,” and you’d be 100% accurate. But this was not a hasty decision. I did my research – Wendy just happened to be in the right place, at the right time. And I’ll tell you what … my face looks luminous and is shine free (as the iPhone selfie below will show you). $120 well spent, my friends. I would highly recommend it.
