Tuesday night I was lucky enough to be picked by MiniLuxe to attend the opening of their new location on the South Shore. I was delighted to receive a warm oil manicure and pedicure while chatting with some fine fellow bloggers.

MiniLuxe is no basic mani/pedi.. it’s the best one you might ever get. The experience begins at the color wall which boasts the best color coordinated selection I’ve ever seen. They offer OPI, Zoya, MiniLuxe (yes, they have their own toxin free brand) and Essie.

MiniLuxe uses only hospital grade sterile utensils and they absolutely never re-use them. This is not something you might normally think about when you go to a salon, but after experiencing the difference it makes, I’ve been converted. I can’t imagine how often tools are not cleaned as well (or at all) as they should be. Do you want somebody else’s dead foot skin on your foot? Didn’t think so.

Now that we have the scary part out of the way, the salon in itself is amazing. The pedicure area is like a magical mini bath spa for your feet. The skilled technicians bring in a little pillow for your hands as well so you can get both your manicure and pedicure at the same time.

Once you’ve been scrubbed, filed, oiled and are ready to dry, you go over to the heater station where you can casually hang out and dry for 14 minutes while you Google until your hearts content on their iPads.

Although MiniLuxe is a bit pricier than your traditional salon, it is truly worth every extra dollar you spend. If you’re not yet convinced, test it out and feel confident you made the right choice when a friendly staff member tells you that they have a “3 day no chip guarantee on all regular shellacs.” WHAT. COULD. BE. BETTER.
